The maison

A gallery without walls

Maison Le Deux is a European digital art house. We compose editions — small, complete collections of works — made to live on the screens, frames and walls of private interiors.

Each collection is built the way a house is furnished: slowly, and with intent. Nothing is shipped, nothing is mass-produced; the works arrive minutes after they are acquired, and stay for years.

01

Places

Every edition begins somewhere real — a coastline, a race, a harbour at a certain hour. We paint the version of it that stays with you after you've left.

02

Memory

We are less interested in how a place looks than in how it is remembered — softened, rearranged, and somehow more true than the photograph.

03

Atmosphere

A work earns its place when it changes the temperature of a room. Light, colour and quiet do the work that walls cannot.

We would rather release one edition that belongs in a room than a hundred images that belong nowhere.

The beginning

It started with a pair

The maison began with two paintings hung side by side in a small apartment — a harbour and a mountain road. Visitors kept asking to buy one or the other, and we kept refusing. The pair belonged together.

That refusal became our method. We do not sell images one by one; we compose editions — collections that hold together the way a well-furnished room does — and deliver them to the people who will live with them. Hence the name: Le Deux. It has always taken at least two works to make an atmosphere.
